Stephen Wahlberg Spreads Awareness on Ovarian Cancer

Stephen and Judye Wahlberg are contributors and volunteers for the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Judye has been cancer free for over two years and has recently taken training courses to be able to teach med students at the CU Medical Sciences Center about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. Judye Wahlberg also attends a support group for women in cancer treatment and provides meals and in-home support for families with cancer.

The Wahlberg family has been involved in cancer awareness and education for many years--Stephen’s grandmother, Eunice Wahlberg, was one of the early leaders in the Colorado Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

The signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer are:

• Abdominal pressure, bloating or discomfort.
• Nausea, indigestion, or gas.
• Urinary frequency, constipation, or diarrhea.
• Abnormal bleeding.
• Unusual fatigue.
• Unexplained weight loss or gain.
• Shortness of breath.
