David S. Woodruff is an experienced Colorado trial lawyer, specializing in medical negligence and complex personal injury cases.
David was raised in New Mexico and attended college at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He earned his Masters degree from the University of Southern California and his law degree from the top-ranked University of Texas School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Woodruff was a Presidential Scholar and mock trial champion. He was chosen to represent the University of Texas in moot court and mock trial competitions across the nation, and was nationally recognized for his skill in trial and appellate advocacy. In 1997 Mr. Woodruff was inducted into the exclusive Order of Barristers.
David S. Woodruff has vast trial and litigation experience. He is a former Assistant Attorney General of Texas, and spent a number of years with a large multinational law firm and a mid-sized Colorado insurance defense firm, where he represented numerous physicians, hospitals, nurses, and nursing homes in healthcare-related claims. He has tried more than twenty civil cases in state and federal courts throughout Colorado and Texas, and has handled appeals in the Colorado and Texas courts of appeals as well as the federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Attorney David S. Woodruff’s background makes him one of the best trained medical malpractice lawyers in Colorado.
David S. Woodruff now represents injured individuals and families in medical malpractice, hospital and nursing home malpractice, and other serious personal injury cases. Mr. Woodruff has been involved in a wide variety of medical cases such as birth injuries; paralysis; patient death; surgical malpractice; mismanaged hormone disorders; misdiagnosed and undiagnosed cancer and heart attacks; failed pacemakers and other medical devices; mismanaged infections; brain and neurological injuries; and pharmaceutical injuries. Mr. Woodruff also devotes himself to representing victims of serious accidents throughout the state of Colorado, including trucking accidents, bicycle accidents, bus and railroad accidents, motorcycle accidents, and property accidents.
Mr. Woodruff is a member of the American and Colorado Trial Lawyers Associations, Colorado Bar Association, and Denver Bar Association. He has served on the Board of Governors for the Colorado Bar Association, and served for four years as a Director of the Denver Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. He is an avid skier, cyclist, and competitive triathlete. He is also a sports car afficionado. Mr. Woodruff and his wife have four children.
